ECKES COLLECTS SECOND SHORT TRACK VICTORY OF THE YEAR

Christian Eckes dominated the Nascar Truck Series race tonight in Martinsville, winning the 1st & 2nd stage, and then took the checked flag at the end for his 2nd win of the year.

Driving the No. 19 Chevrolet for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, the Middletown, New York native lead 133 of of 200 laps in the Long John Silver’s 200 at the Paperclip in Virginia.

Ty Majeski who led 66 laps tonight, battled Eckes towards the end of the cautioned filled race with Eckes coming out on top on the last restart of the night to win the coveted Martinsville Grandfather Clock.

Majeski came in 2nd, followed by Chase Purdy, Nick Sanchez, and Eckes’ teammate Tyler Ankrum came in 5th. Taylor Gray was sixth and then it was Rajah Caruth, Sammy Smith, Kaden Honeycutt and Marietta, Georgia’s Corey Heim finished 10th.

Heim’s fellow Georgian, Mason Massey of Douglasville had his season best finish as he took the checked flag in the 11th spot for Young’s Motorsports.

Heim retains his lead in the 2024 Points Standings with 207 points, followed by Tyler Ankrum with 197 and Ty Majeski with 196.
