The Corvette
Cruisers of Atlanta celebrated the very first Fall Bow Tie Festival
on Oct 11th
Story &

Although
the weather started out tenuous with a wind driven mist that looked
like it could turn to rain any moment, the clouds soon parted and
the sunshine prevailed accompanied by some wind gusts that keep
things on the cool side.
While the doubtful
weather may have discouraged some from attending the arrival of
the sun brought out the die hard car show people out. When registration
was closed we had registered 72 Chevrolet Cars and Trucks which
was just short of the author's expectations of 75 cars, which by
all accounts is a very good turn out for our club's very first Car
Show.
We had the assistance
of the Boys scouts and the Police explorers for set up, traffic
management, drink sales and clean up. Our sponsor Rick Hendrick
Chevrolet in Duluth located on Satellite Blvd was a outstanding
contributor to our efforts and really aided us in making the show
the success it was.
We also were
fortunate to obtain a professional DJ Greg Talmadge from 106.7 FM
who did an outstanding job for us. When we had totaled all of our
sales and contributions less expenses we were able to present substantial
checks to our three selected charities, Care for Cops, Southeast
Gwinnett Cooperative Charity and The Gwinnett Sexual Assault Center
and Children's Advocacy.
This was our
first annual car show and we are already planning next year's show.
