Memorial Set For OSAS Drivers At Dixie Saturday Night
Woodstock,
GA (July 31, 2008) ”The O'Reilly Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series
will be back in action Saturday night August 2nd at Dixie Speedway
in Woodstock, GA., for the running of the Bill Ingram Memorial 50
paying $5,000 to win.
This will be
the only visit by the series to the 3/8ths mile oval located just
north of Atlanta and if any indication in past races held there
this one should be one of the best of the season with the series.
Current and
defending OSAS points leader Ivedent Lloyd of Ocala, FL., will lead
the series drivers into the event as he has a 94 point lead over
the second place driver and current Cleveland Speedway Rookie of
the Year leader Jason Fitzgerald of Jacksonville, FL., who is still
looking for his first win of the season as he has several strong
runs of late and that first win should be around the corner for
him.
Third place
in points is another Rookie of the Year contender Derek Ellis of
Chattanooga, TN., who is in first full year of touring with the
series and is making a fine run this season as he is seeing many
of these race tracks for the first time.
Fourth place
is Anthony Hill of Carrollton, Ga., who is another rookie contender
that had a rough time at the start of the season, but has been steadily
improving as the season rolls on.
This is also his first full year of running with a traveling series.Â
All these drivers are expected to in action Saturday night.

from across the southeast that are expected to be in action include
4 time Southern All Star Champion Clint Smith of Senoia, GA., Tony
Knowles of Tyrone, GA., Lee Sutton of Taylorsville, GA., Travis
Pennington of Winston, GA., Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN.,
Mike Head of Ellenwood, GA., William Thomas of Phenix City, AL.,
Dion Deason of Greenwood, Sc., Jamie Perry of Cleveland, TN., David
Payne of Murphy, NC., and Casey Roberts of Toccoa, GA.
Leading the
tough local contingent at Dixie will be Luther Jenkins, Ricky Williams,
Tim Day, Don Jenkins, Dusty Chitwood, and Wayne Echols.
In addition
to the Super Late Models, fans will see the Limited Late Models,
Super & Econo Bombers, Cruisers, Pony Stock, and Spectator Racers
in competition.
Adult grandstand
admission is $20, 9 - 17 year olds $6 and children 8 years old and
under are free. A $5 discount is given on adult grandstand admission
with a Coca Cola bottle cap. Trackside/tailgate admission is $22
per adult and $11 per child. Pit Passes are $25 per adult and $22
per child.
Pit gates will
open at 3 pm, grandstand gates at 5 PM with hot laps set for 6:30
