HAMPTON, Ga. (June 25, 2010) - Atlanta Motor Speedway's seventh week of Friday Night Drags opened with a crowd-pleasing burn-out contest and concluded with the points race tightening in Friday Night Drags' top division.

Arif Hosein of Fayetteville started the show by claiming victory in the Friday Night Drags burn-out contest. Besting two other competitors, Hosein held his 1972 Chevrolet C-10 steady during his entire 30-second window and his back tires soon released a massive plume of smoke. By the midpoint of his burn-out, smoke billowed wide and high enough to conceal the truck from grandstand view.

"That was awesome," exclaimed an excited Hosein after the win. "We've come up short on the drag racing lately, so I figured we may as well try [the burn-out contest] and we got it."

Hosein entered week seven sitting second in Sport Compact division points, but did not enter week seven's drag racing action after having his motor "lock up."

"I hope to be back next and I would definitely like to win the championship," Hosein added.

Meanwhile, Frank Taylor further closed the gap in Friday Night Drags top division, the Super Pros. After failing to earn points in the series' first two points competitions due to mechanical failures, Taylor has now won back-to-back Super Pro races to total eight points in 2010.

Division points-leader Bobby Daniel entered the week with 10 points, but failed to reach the Super Pro finale allowing Taylor to gain ground on the leader. Taylor now trails Daniel by just three points, with eight points to Daniel's 11.
