Green
Valley Speedway Ready For New Season
Glencoe, AL,
January 23, 2009: The historic Green Valley Speedway will kick off
the 2009 racing season in February with the 12th Annual Bama Bash!
All dirt track racers will be licking their chops this year with
over $90,000 in prize money on the line.
It will be
an event filled weekend of fun for the entire family and close to
home. Super Late Model, Limited Late Model, Crate Late Model, Open
Wheels, Super Street, Hobby, Mod Pony, Pure Pony and Cruisers will
be taking to the clay oval for some down home bumper grinding, slip
sliding action that’s sure to entertain the fans.
It all kicks
off on Thursday, February 19th 6PM with a practice that is free
to the public to observe from the grandstands. Friday (20th) gates
open at Noon with a 4PM practice time and Hot Laps and Heat Races.
Saturday (21st) the gates open at 10AM with 4:30PM Time Trials followed
by Heat Races. Sunday (22nd) gates open at 10AM with Consi Races
beginning at 2PM followed by Feature Races.
The Green Valley
Speedway opened up in 1972 and features a 3/8th mile semi-banked
oval clay track. Track events can feature Late Models, Super Street,
Hobby, Cruiser, Pony Classes, Open Wheels and Go-Karts. The track
has recently been upgraded to feature box seats, a Kids Play Area
and an Alcohol-Free Family Section.
