If it has Horse Power - We'll be There!

So you think you can ride a dirt bike?

Me too, until I went to The Battle of Atlanta and watched the pros show their talents at the event in Social Circle, GA.

January 3, 2010 was a nice 17 degrees for the start of the eight hour endurance dirt bike race. Civil War re-enacters shot muskets to begin each class.

The twelve mile track consisted of woods, creek crossings, MX track, and a Europeon obstacle course. It was mostly a three man team effort for victory, except for the ironman class (a one man or woman team).

As the cold day passed by, fatigue started to set in on many racers, tiring and making mistakes they pushed mentally and physically for the eight hour finish. Some of the riders falling down would stand up, look at me and say "good picture huh" then race away.

After covering the race all day long, I was exhausted and could not imagine the pain these racers felt from the long race and bitter cold.

With a little more seat time on my bike I just might try a major race event; it's not just a battle between competitors, it's a battle against yourself.

Hats off to the racers who made it to the finish.
