Georgia
Racing History.com Update 1/6/12
Hi
folks, I hope everyone has had a good week.
This
week, unveil our annual most historic story of the past year over at Georgia
Racing History.com.
Each
year, Georgia Racing History polls various members of the motorsports
media and racing aficianados for their take on the top historic Georgia
racing moment of 2011.
The
votes are in, and our panel has chosen Bubba Pollard's stellar
2011 Late Model season, wherein he scored 19 wins in 43 starts during
the year. You can read our panel's thoughts, along with those of Pollard,
as well as see some of the other choices for top story of the year and
predictions for 2012. You can see all this over at Georgia
Racing History.com.
In
other news, the Pro Late Model season gets underway in Georgia this weekend,
as Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, GA hosts the 5th annual
Ice Cold Shriners Bowl. Among those expected to take part are Bubba
Pollard, Spencer Davis and Russell Fleeman. NASCAR
driver David Ragan will also be in attendance, signing autographs
and visiting with the fans on Sunday. For more info, visit our sister
site, Raceweek
Illustrated.
The
23rd annual Peach Bowl Speedway reunion is slated for Jan. 29 at the American
Legion in Austell, GA. It's always one of the top racing reunions of
the year, and it's one you don't want to miss! Susan Morgan has
been working hard on the event, and you can email her for more info at
samorgan5@comcast.net,
or you can visit Raceweek
Illustrated and click the link on the right.
No
birthday wishes to share this week. If you know a birthday that we missed,
please let us know.
Thanks
everybody, and have a great weekend!
