The
24 Hours of LeMons: Nasty. Brutish. Not Short Enough.
The crowd. The spectacle. The pall of blue smoke and roasted clutch
discs. In all motorsport, no event captures the universal human
need to whale on old crapcans and hoover down greasy barbecue like
the 24 Hours of LeMons! Each LeMons race is for cars purchased,
fixed up, and track-prepped for a total of 500 dollars or less.
But before reaching the grid, you'll have to survive trials like
the Personal-Injury-Lawyer Anti-Slalom, the Marxist-Valet Parking
Challenge, and the Wide Open Throttle Rodthrowapalooza. The series
was in Kershaw, SC the weekend of September 12th. See the pix our
MSA staff took.

Barber
Motorsports Park
September 5 - 6, 2009
The
Barber Historics in the Park was wet! A number of classic cars braved
the rain from a 1929 Ford to a Lotus to a Porsche to a Lotus to
a TVR. Something
that was very impressive was the level of competition without the
bumping pushing and shoving. Very close but clean racing.

Logano
Looking to Continue Moving Forward at Atlanta Motor Speedway
by
Matthew Simmons, Home Depot Racing
HAMPTON, Ga.
-- Throughout his rookie season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series,
the second time around has yielded good things for Joey Logano.
That could
bode well Logano when the green flag drops at the Pep Boys Auto
500 on Sept. 6 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Logano
has raced for the second time at six different tracks so far this
season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. At five of those tracks,
he posted a better finish than he did in his debut at that racetrack.
Atlanta Motor Speedway will be Logano's seventh track that he will
be competing in the Sprint Cup Series for a second time when he
races there.
