Rome Speedway: Fourth of July race weekend

Happy Independence Day from Rome Speedway!   Or should I say SUPERSPEEDWAY!   After all, Rome is the fastest ½-mile clay oval on the planet!   Super Cars have turned this track in excess of 130 mph!   (And it's just plain scary thinking about Winged Sprint Cars!)   In addition to the grand aerial fireworks display put on at the facility ... an excellent field of cars made the trip to Rome to provide fireworks on the track.   There were Super Late Models, Crates, Limited Late Models, Super Bombers, Econo Bombers, and Pony Stocks.  Read more >>>

 

Busy August Ahead for the GAS Series

JEFFERSON, Ga. -- With summer coming to a close quickly, vacations are ending and school starting back in a couple weeks, the Georgia Asphalt Series for Pro Late Models begins to make a run toward the end of the season with 3 races in 5 weeks. The GAS Series hits the road on Saturday, August 2nd with its second visit to Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia. The fast 3/8 mile oval hosted the touring series in June where Bubba Pollard of Senoia, Georgia took the win. The series will return to New Senoia on Saturday, September 20th. Read more >>>

Fallen Heroes To Be Honored At Lakewood Speedway Reunion
The inaugural Lakewood Speedway Reunion, scheduled for August 9 at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame at the Dawsonville, Georgia, City Municipal Complex will be a time for celebration, reunion, and fellowship. But it will also be a time of remembrance.  Over a dozen racers lost their lives at the storied Atlanta racetrack during its 62 years of operation.  One of the most infamous incidents occurred in the summer of 1946. Bill Ingram Memorial Set For OSAS Drivers At Dixie Speedway on Saturday Night August 2nd
”The O'Reilly Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be back in action Saturday night August 2nd at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA., for the running of the Bill Ingram Memorial 50 paying $5,000 to win. Current and defending OSAS points leader Ivedent Lloyd of Ocala, FL., will lead the series drivers into the event as he has a 94 point lead over the second place driver and current Cleveland Speedway Rookie of the Year leader Jason Fitzgerald of Jacksonville, FL. Mullet Mania Night and a Kid's Bike, Trike & Power Wheels Race Presented by Clover Ranch Communities
Atlanta Motor Speedway's summer racing series, Thursday Thunder, returns to AMS' quarter-mile "Thunder Ring" on July 31 for the ninth round of the 10-week racing series that runs each Thursday through August 7. Week nine is Mullet Mania Night presented by Clover Ranch Communities and will feature a Kid's Bike, Trike & Power Wheels race around the "Thunder Ring" during intermission. The evening will also include an autograph session featuring the Thunder Roadster and Semi-Pro class drivers as well as weekly concourse activities, grandstand games and on-track excitement.
