Dallas Car Show

The Georgia Classic Rides car club from Dallas, GA had their 21st annual car show at Paulding Meadows on April 25, 2009. MSA Editor, Marci Watson, spent the beautiful spring day at the event. Several vendors set up shop and displayed their wares. Plenty of good food, music and a swap meet were the order of the day. Talladega (Short Track) Night Up Next for Southern All Star Racing Series

Woodruff, SC -The drivers of the Southern All Star Racing Series will hit the high banks of Talladega Short Track on Saturday night April 25th for the first time this year. The track affectionately known as “The Hornets Nest” always provides plenty of side by side racing action for the Talladega faithful. This weekend while the NASCAR gang is across the street at the big track TST looks to host another big crowd. “The atmosphere at TST is always electric but when you add in all those folks who are there for the Cup race it is really buzzing. And the announcing threesome keeps that crowd into it all night long. Of course the quality of racing alone at Talladega is enough to keep most fans into the program.” said Southern All Star Series Director Kelley Carlton. Read more >>>

April 18 Clinton Nature Preserve, Villa Rica, GA

Sam Memmolo - celebrity mechanic of TV's "Shadetree Mechanic" Master Mechanic, ASE Certified Auto Repair Technician, of "Crank & Chrome", "My Classic Car", "2 Guys Garage", and Sam's Garage Radio Shows held its annual Car, Motorcycle & Dog Show on a beautiful spring day in Villa Rica.

The event was well attended by humans and their four-legged friends. All proceeds went to the animal rescue and care organizations in the area. See pix >>>

Rate Your Crate: Big Weekend for Crate Late Models

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Racefans in the South will get to RATE THEIR CRATE racers this weekend as a pair of Crate Late Model events will invade the Georgia and Tennessee area dirt tracks. Friday night (April 17th) Boyd’s Speedway in the Ringgold/Chattanooga area is contending it’s first of four (4) KING of CRATE CHALLENGE races, paying $2,500. to-WIN. The following night the dirt track up Interstate 75 in Cleveland, Tennessee hosts the Top Tracks Crate Challenge series, promoted by racing legend B.J. Parker. Read more >>>

Hamstra, Halsey, Glidden, Prophit and Gahm crowned ADRL winners at SGMP's HARDEE'S GA Drags V

CECIL, Ga. Upset victories, first time winners, record-breaking performances and another overflow, record-setting crowd highlighted the ADRL Hardee's Georgia Drags at South Georgia Motorsports Park. Jason Hamstra (Pro Extreme), Jim Halsey (Pro Nitrous), Billy Glidden (Flowmaster Extreme 10.5), Matt Prophit (Pro Extreme Motorcycle) and Brian Gahm (Extreme Pro Stock) were winners in their respective classes. Offshore Super Series: JBS Racing takes the crown

The storm clouds parted and winds laid down Sunday afternoon as the 2009 Smokin’ The Sound race roared through the waters on the inside of Deer Island before a record crowd of 45,000. That was a complete reversal from Saturday, when 25- to 30-knot west winds and 4- to 6-foot waves on the nine-mile track forced a postponement of the pro-am race. Sunday’s edition also saw a shift in powers, too. Following six hours of racing featuring seven different classes, the King of Biloxi was dethroned. See PIX >>>
