2009 Bama Bash one of the biggest weekends ever at Green Valley Speedway
Glencoe, AL, February 22, 2009: Despite the cold wind and cooler temperatures, the atmosphere was hot at the 12th Annual Bama Bash at Green Valley Speedway. The Fans were electric, as some of the biggest names in dirt track racing took to the red-clay oval.  Ronnie Johnson, the Chattanooga Flash, from Chattanooga,TN was the star of the day taking both the Crate Late Model and the Limited Late Model races, and finished 7th in the Super Late Models.

The Super 7 Series returns to Montgomery MotorSports Park (Alabama) in February '09. Most events will be scheduled the 1st weekend of every month just like last year. The first event is February 27-March 1st. Read more >>>

Alabama's BIR Demolished
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Contractors, after Mayor Larry Langford swung a wrecking ball into the 88-year- old grandstands Jan. 30, are levelling Birmingham International Raceway here at the Alabama State Fair grounds. The speedway, which once hosted NASCAR's now-Sprint Cup Series 1958-68, ran for an almost continuous 95 years. Langford, at Jan. 30's ceremony, showed Fair Park's $55 million improvement plan. An Olympic-sized swimming pool, indoor high school running track and field and an equestrian training center is to replace the .625-mile paved oval and stands. Read more >>>

Pierce Wins First Pro Legends Race Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway

HAMPTON, Ga. -- Georgia legends car racer Currie Pierce drove to his first pro legends car feature race victory Saturday, January 31st, at Atlanta Motor Speedway’s quarter-mile frontstretch oval. Pierce started second in the 10-lap feature after finishing sixth in the preliminary race and took the lead from Will Prance around the halfway point. The 17-year-old racer never looked back from there, driving to the victory by about five car-lengths over Prance. Read more >>>

Green Valley Speedway Ready For New Season

The historic Green Valley Speedway will kick off the 2009 racing season in February with the 12th Annual Bama Bash! All dirt track racers will be licking their chops this year with over $90,000 in prize money on the line. It will be an event filled weekend of fun for the entire family and close to home. Super Late Model, Limited Late Model, Crate Late Model, Open Wheels, Super Street, Hobby, Mod Pony, Pure Pony and Cruisers will be taking to the clay oval for some down home bumper grinding, slip sliding action that’s sure to entertain the fans. IMCA Modifieds Featured Fridays at Green Valley

GLENCOE, Ala. -- IMCA Modified drivers in Alabama can add a second race night to their weekend schedules this season.

Green Valley Speedway at Glencoe will add the sanctioned open wheeled division to Friday programs starting March 13. Point races will continue through Aug. 28. Read more >>>
